Fall Semester.....already! Where does the time go?

Summer semester came and went....... way to fast. We were forever busy. A quick run down on the past couple of months:

June

Classes began and the TLC hosted 15 Blackboard orientation sessions.

The history department welcomed two new instructors who will begin teaching Fall semester. They were very busy receiving technology training and designing their distance education classes.

The Alabama Community College Information System Association held summer conference in Orange Beach. This is always a great three days jammed pack with technology information overload.

July: Vacations and Holiday

Once again, Northeast Technology Center presented at Blackboard World in Las Vegas. This is a great honor to represent NACC at this event. Brent Satterfield was my co-presenter and our presentation was entitled "Offering a little TLC in the Technology Learning Center". This is a modified presentation of the one Ms. Shirley Buttram and I presented in DC at the Title III Conference in March. It was well received and we had awesome attendance. We are just a little bit proud.

A new Computer Science instructor replaced Mr. Sam Dobbs who retired. Ms. Julie Hester is busy preparing for a full Fall semester. We are excited to have Ms. Hester and welcome her to NACC.

August

Finals, training, new students; oh my! It is a busy time around here. New faces as the freshmen come in the TLC. We welcome 125 level one nursing students who I think have all visited the TLC.

Blackboard orientations are once again complete. We hosted 15 sessions with 295 students attending. This is still well attended training.

We welcome all new students and new instructors to campus and offer our Technical Assistances. If we can do anything to assist you, please come by the TLC.

Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM-7:00 PM

Friday: 7:30 AM-4:00

We hope to see you soon!
